Viscosity and formula. ATF has all kinds of corrosion inhibitors and sperm whale oil in it. Motor oil is oil and detergent. ATF may not harm the engine but motor oil will harm a transmission. Have it changed out asap.Whoops, transmission oil instead of engine oil. What should I do?
how much tranny oil did you put in the engine?
Engine oil is for engines and transmission oil is for transmissions,drain the engine/transmission,change the filter and run it,the engine might exhaust smoke and the transmission might or might not work...........Good luck...
drain it out, after replacing oil and filter, let it run for awhile because its going to smoke
hello i may be able to help you if you put a litre of tranny oil in with 3 or 4 litres of engine oil its ok your engine will be nice and clean inside! tranny oil has good cleaning capability's but you don't want to put engine oil in tranny that's not good . hope it helP's
ps even two litres is ok
It shouldn't hurt anything but it will definitely help clean the lubrication passages and the inside of your engine. Drain and refill with a new filter and you should be okay.
pull the pan and dran it and get a new filter then just put more in it it sould be fine
