How offten should I change the transmission oil in the 2004 honda civic sedan?

Check the owners manual and do it every time the owner's manual says to do it. I would recommend simply taking your Honda into the dealership or at least a Honda specializing shop for scheduled service. The important thing about Honda's is that you HAVE to keep up with regular maintenance or something will break down. I own 3 of them, and owned many before, my only regret on the one that actually broke down on me in the past was that i did not keep up with scheduled maintenance. The 3 new Honda's i have, i keep up with maintenance and have not had a single problem since.

Also after you reach a mileage that is past what your owners manual can recommend, (usually 120,000 miles or so) change your transmission fluid every 15,000 miles. This will help out your aging transmission a lot. Don't do a transmission flush though, not even the Honda dealership recommends that, it can actually damage your transmission. Just do a simple drain and refill, in fact in Honda's your supposed to drain it, refill it drive it for a bit, drain it again and refill it once more. If the fluid is still looking a little weird, do it once more. You gotta do it a couple times because when you drain it, you'll only let out about 3-4 quarts. The rest of it stays inside the transmission. That's why you drive it so it circulates again and then you can do another drain and refill. How offten should I change the transmission oil in the 2004 honda civic sedan?
