My car has brown transmission oil, should i get it flushed before i go on a big trip?

Me and some friends are headed over to Lake Chelan state park for 9 days and i was thinking maybe i should drop 100 bucks on my car before i go. Because i live in western washington so i have to go over the mountains to get to lake chelan and haha i have a little Honda Prelude. My car has brown transmission oil, should i get it flushed before i go on a big trip?
Your proposed $100 investment will, no doubt, save you hundreds perhaps thousands in towing and repair bills.

Taking any trip in our cars requires that we have the car serviced beforehand to avoid any unforeseen pitfalls and breakdowns along the way.

This will also give you the piece-of-mind of knowing that your car is at it's optimal performance capability.

*check fluids

*check belts

*check hoses

*check tire pressure

Have a safe trip.My car has brown transmission oil, should i get it flushed before i go on a big trip?
YES. YOU PROBABLY HAVE BURNT TRANSMISSION FLUID IN THERE.
Transmission fluid starts out red, and through time develops that ';brown'; dirty color youve described. Unless your transmission has been slipping or youve noticed drops of fluid on your driveway, there no real indication that its going to fail on you. My suggestion is... its always good to keep your vehicle in the best condition possible to avoid road hazzards. If you feel that its important, and it will give you peace of mind on the road, go ahead with your instincts.
if u want to save your trans i would suggest u change the fluid and screen. u do have to replace the trans pan gasket when changing the screen.
Yes and filter. the pan has to come off so do filter.Change oil and anti freeze while in shop.
Yes - you need the fluid and filter changed. Your ATF should be pink to red in color.

It sounds like it's either never been replaced, or you've overheated the engine at some point.
tranny fluid should not be brown, get a total flush and fill asap.
yes you realy should get the Transmission flushed and a new Filter or you will blow your trans up really fast

good luck
oh dear...get the oil replaced before you go, you may not have a gearbox soon...
i defiantly would and have a new filter installed too.. but make sure its a good shop that has a machine to do it and they just don't only change the fluid
