the tranny will slip if it's 3 qts. low and eventually burn up.What are possible damages caused by running Ford F-550 transmission without 3 quarts of transmission oil ?
You have a series of clutches in any automatic transmission,if you have run a long distance without fluid,you stand a good chance of having burnt the clutches in the transmission.This will lead to slipping and over heating....top the fluid level up and check for leaks and then roadtest to see what the performance is like.
