I have asked my husband who was an auto mechanic and he said..Power steering fluid and transmission fluid are the same viscosity (meaning it is the same thickness) and will not harm the power steering.. and to enjoy the ride.
Look In Your Owners Manual On How To Drain The Power Steering Fluid, Shouldn't Be Too Hard
Actually, ...

that might actually work.

Call your local 24hr parts store (AutoZone, AutoShack, or whatever, and ask them.

Until you get an answer from someon like that who should know, do NOT turn your car on.

OH, it's late, and I'm not thinking. You may also be able to hit a car forum or chat page online, %26amp; get good answers.

For some reason, I don't think the car buffs are hanging out here.

Good luck.
It has to be flushed. Probably best by a professional. Oops!
If it is a honda Or acura it has to be hona type power steering fluid otherwise your cool. You don't have suck out. Many people put trans. fluid in their power steering just so that if they have a leak they can tell where it is fromf
Put a hose in the hole and suck.....

not really, siphon it, or unplug a hose and let it drain out.
If it is automatic transmission fluid it wont hurt. If you really want to get it out, use a turkey baster and suck out as much as you can, then refill with power steering fluid. Do that about three or four days in a row, and you should get most of it out.

I wouldn't bother. I have used motor oil in a pinch! (not recommending it, that's all I had at the time!).
You can use transmission fluid for power steering. You don't have to do anything.
it probably wont hurt it because transmission fluid is a good substitute or power steering fluid, and it may say on that to use transmission fluid ,you can take a hose loose and drain it out,but id look in the owners manual and see what it called for, chances are it wont hurt nothing ,good luck
