How much is a transmission oil change?

Hi there, I haven't done this before so I do not know how much I have to calculate for this service.

Appreciate your answers. How much is a transmission oil change?
To service an average automatic transmission (change filter and fluid, check linkage) is usually $79.99. Find a reputable shop or they will ';find'; problems and rip you. I try to stay away from national chain shops (quick lube, sears, ect) and use the smaller ma and pa shops that have a good reputation. How much is a transmission oil change?
about $75.00 it will take between 8-14 quarts of trainy fluid ask the person changing it if it smells burnt if so you may have bigger problems, and don't forget to have the filter changed as well!! Report Abuse

On what?

Honda Civic?

Porche 911 Targa?

Ford F-350 4x4?

Between $30.00, and $300.00 Depends on what you drive.
The price varies but, we need to know what make/Model of vehicle you need the change done on. Some vehicles need specific tranny fluid and, having it done at say a Penzoil or Jiffy lube can damage the tranny itself if they don't use the correct fluid, thus voiding any warrant you may have!
Call around in your city and find a reputable place to give you a quote for the service. Prices vary according to where you are in the USA
depend on vehicle.

anywhere from an hour to hour and half is reasonable. unless its a porsche, bmw, etc.
Around 70 bucks
I have seen it as low as $9.95 and as high as $49.95. The low ones are usually a come-on and they will tell you that you need more service.
It can vary.

Automatic or Manual?

Figure more for an Automatic.
it depends on the engine and transmission. tell us what you drive.
