How do you check/add transmission oil in a 98 chevy blazer?

My husband wants to check the transmission oil on our grandmothers 98 Chevy blazer, but he's only use to Hondas. Any help would be appreciated since she's too scared to drive it.How do you check/add transmission oil in a 98 chevy blazer?
Just start up the vehicle and let it run for a few minutes. Then take out the dipstick that is for the transmission fluid. It is typically red. Check it a few times and see if it is low or not. If it is grab a funnel that will fit down into the dipstick tube and add the level of tranny fluid that is needed. How do you check/add transmission oil in a 98 chevy blazer?
actual procedure is...bring car/truck to operating temp [warm up]...find dipstick....on v6 its on pass side back by firewall it doesn't have a loop like reg oil dip st but has clip that flips up....shift truck through all gears...1,2,3,4od,r,n,park,,,,pull dip st and wipe off,,,stick back [carefully] to bottom...pull out and look...fluid should b red not brown and not smell burnt.... gm sez change every 35,000 mi good idea...get shop manual 15 dollars if ur gona work on ur car..
